民國92年7月行政院核定「高鐵苗栗、雲林站區聯外道路系統改善計畫」，其中高鐵雲林站「新闢斗六聯絡道路」，已內含增設國道1號虎尾交流道工程，本交流道工程業於98年12月28日開工，工期840日曆天，預定101年4月完工。
行政院核定「新闢斗六聯絡道路」(自高鐵雲林站前60米園道與雲91鄉道相交處，往東銜接台一丁線止，共約9公里)由雲林縣政府辦理，該道路與國道1號交叉處所增設之「虎尾交流道」，則由雲林縣政府委託交通部高速公路局代辦規劃
設計施工，並採用地下穿越式鑽石型交流道辦理。增設虎尾交流道(距離高鐵雲林車站約4.5公里)除可提供高鐵車站與中科雲林基地往返國道1號更便捷之路徑外，亦可配合高速鐵路雲林車站特定區計畫，吸引產業及人口進駐，促進高鐵雲林站之發展。
Construction of the Huwei Interchange of the New Doliu Access Road of the HSR Yunlin Station Begins
In July 2003, the Executive Yuan had approved the “Access road System Improvement P r o j e c t o f H S R Mi a o l i a n d Yunlin Station”, of which the new Dol iu acces s road had included the construction of Huwei Interchange of National Highway No.1. The construction of the interchanged has started on December 28th, 2009 and is scheduled to be completed by April 2012 with 8 0 working days.
T h e E x e c u t i v e Y uan has assigned the new Doliu access
road (which starts from the intersection of the 60-meter boulevard
in front of the HSR Yunlin Station and the No.91 Village street to
the eastbound Line D of the 1st Provincial Highway with a total
of 9 km). The additional Huwei interchange at the intersection
of the access road and National Highway No.1 is commissioned
by Yunlin County Government to National Freeway Bureau of
MOTC for planning, designing and constructing in the form of
diamond-shaped underpass. The interchange, which is about 4.5
km to the HSR Yunlin Station, not only can offer a more convenient
choice to connect HSR station and Yunlin base of Taichung Science-Based Industrial Park with National Highway, but also can complement the HSR Yunlin Station District planning to attract
enterprises as well as people for the development of HSR Yunlin
Station.
